NO NO NO NO NO DON'T JUST LEAVE IT AT THAT. UN FLIPPIN' ACCEPTABLE.
(Am I surprised though? Ask me that. NO. BECAUSE KRIPKE IS A CRUEL ONE. YES HE IS. He's the Grinch of satisfying endings. Always with the cliff-hangers)
*aneurysm*
ETA: Um.Um. Still bothered by Ruby. She just didn't seem that manipulative/forward thinking in S3. I still find her whole Luc fanaticism hard to swallow. Then again, maybe it's just cause I like Katie Cassidy...

I WANT TO WATCH WITH MY FRIENDS SO I CAN SQUEE WITH THEM. But no, summer break and everyone's separated. WHERE'S MY DEAN BONDING?! I need support here.
I'll probably die at the end of this finale :(

So that pairing in the film? Threw me, but whatever - Spock (ZQ) is just sooooooooooo cute. I can deal.
MY EYES ARE STILL BEDAZZLED AND IT'S BEEN 1 HOUR. I love every single character. Plus, young!kirk and young!spock are so huggable.
Normally, time travel storylines bother the hell outta me, but for some reason, I didn't care at all in this film. Which is yayyyy, I guess?
I now see the appeal of Pinto RPS. As in, gimmegimmegimmegimme NOW

Is it a Freudian slip that every time I tried to type the word "depth" in my paper today, I ended up with "death"?
Seriously, will the people in the laundry room next door freaking SHUT UP? I don't give a shit how nervous you were about the S.A.Ts. How smart you are. Or what your bleedin' score was. WE'RE IN COLLEGE BITCHES. Sad thing is, I don't even think they're freshmen...
On to my other 3 Finals T.T
ETA: Just figured out why I'm in Bitch Mode. Missed all the clues because of this stupid stressful paper. Great ending to a Great day.

Smartbitchestrashybooks has also decided to take up the fight with a (kickass) google bomb!

On the sbtb site, there should be 2 petitions (in the comments for that entry). I encourage all of you to sign either or both.
Utter, willful, stupidity should not be accepted.
ETA: So yes, about 3 hours after I posted, I stumbled upon new information. About "The Glitch." Whether or not the suspicious focus on GLBT books was purposeful, I'm still annoyed that some dimwit decided to test out such a faulty system (if it was, indeed, a Glitch). The fact that educational GLBT books were de-ranked while books teaching parents how to prevent homosexuality remained up still reeks of something to me.

+ We can write it on anything we want
+ Lotsa leeway
+ I've already gotten inspiration for the format of the paper. It's a brilliant idea if I do say so myself ;)
- Instead of choosing the cop out option (in which I recycle 3 previously written papers on the same poem), I've decided to research an entirely new piece
- This is, in fact, a poem the prof warned me about 2 months ago when I was going to do a presentation on it. He suggested I do something else. I did.
- I didn't realize just how bad of an idea it was until right now. After I've spent 1 1/2 hours searching for articles and literary criticisms on this poem.
- Woe unto me, only 2 successes. There was a 3rd. Could not access. It was the only article I ACTUALLY wanted.
I need new journal sites - besides Lion, Project Muse, and JSTOR.

It. Is. A. Goldmine.
And by that, I mean the articles are surprisingly well-written (snarky humor). It's just a site with people commenting on various forms of entertainment - for instance, television shows.
Sadly, so far I've only found one piece on Supernatural but the last few sentences were totally worth it (I agree with pretty much everything he wrote though):

Basically, I'm trying to figure out what play/novel it is that my parents read when they were younger.
I know the name of one character. UNFORTUNATELY IT'S IN CHINESE BECAUSE THIS PLAY WAS TRANSLATED INTO CHINESE. Oh yeah that helps me a whole bunch. It's: Ge Lang Tai (that's as near as I can figure it) I'm not even sure if that's correct but whatev. So the only English sounding name I can equate that to is Grant? Gallante? Garrante? Or some variation of that? whaaaat?
My parents both - how coincidental... - only remember one scene: the father (Ge Lang Tai) is on his deathbed with his daughter watching over him. He refuses to die unless the lamp/gas light in the room is extinguished (b/c apparently he is a miserly man?). Once she turns off the light and he knows that no more oil will be wasted, he finally dies. The daughter (who earlier swore she would never be as much of a stingy bastard as her father), in the end of the play/novel, becomes worse than him. So...irony...
That's all I have. Any suggestions? Any suggestions from your friends? We've all agreed it has nothing to do with The Merchant of Venice. My dad thinks it's a Shakespeare play, though I'm leaning towards "ummmm. NO"

I also find it a bit weird. Because honestly, I got lj to keep track of authors who I didn't know watched the drool-worthiness of the Winchesterboys/Castiel. But now I know. So. Cool.
PS. Dexter is a cool show too. And House. But especially DEXTER. Am I demented for liking serial killer goodness? Who knows...

So I have a final (2 actually but for separate classes) essay due right after Thanksgiving. One involves me buying a last minute collection of poems to analyze. Which I did for only $6 (hardcover too!!!). To get free shipping and handling - which otherwise would've have been about $5 - I needed $25 worth of items.
So... I bought Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales . Relatively expensive, yes. Worth it? I certainly hope so (we'll see when the package arrives). +600 pages. Bound. Gilt-edged pages (I'm a sucker for the shiny).
I LOVE FAIRY TALES. MYTHOLOGY. FOLKLORE. ETC. No freakin' way am I going to study for my finals. Ohhhhh no, it's gonna be FairyTale-reading day and night!!!!!!!
It's an early Christmas gift for myself...

Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I've never felt so...vulnerable (even if this didn't involve me since I'm off at college...). It's frightening to finally realize that no, you're not always safe, not always aware of everything going on. That you aren't an outsider looking in sympathetically. I know I'm probably overreacting, but that doesn't change the fact that I just feel...a little scared?

Naturally, I spend hours searching for the 2 poems I must analyze/compare. I've read the prompt about 15 times. I decide on...Shakespeare's "Sonnet 116" and Donne's "A Valediction Forbidding Mourning". Start writing. Good intro if I do say so myself. Get a funny feeling in the pit of my stomach. Remember that I forgot to turn in my biblio for a previous paper in a different class. Go do that with an apology email to the Prof. Go back and read the prompt for my Poetry Paper again. Realize THE POEMS MUST BE FROM DIFFERENT TIME PERIODS. Preferably, classical v. modern. Donne and Mr.Shakes lived in the same time period. *DIIIEEEEEEEE*
All that analyzing for NOTHING. Start from scratch. I've decided on 2 poems not listed on the syllabus (which we were
